On Full Moon Day, 26th September, 2007, one-thousand statues of Buddha Shakyamuni arrived at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery after journeying for many weeks by both land and sea.The exquisite statues were expertly cast in bronze at a foundry in Thailand. Packed into individual boxes, they voyaged together in 40-foot containers by ship from Bangkok to Calcutta. Thereafter, the statues journeyed overland and finally crossed the border from India into Nepal.
